CUSTOMER RESTROOM at the BUTTERY

When this building was built in the 1880's, there was no indoor plumbing. Most of the Victorian structures in this area received indoor plumbing between 1910 to 1920. Our intent was for it to have the look and feel of the 1920's.

DETAIL OF ENTRY / Quarter Sawn Oak Flooring & Vintage Style Button Tile
were used to emulate the era of the building.

THE SWIFT STREET COURTYARD BUILDING WAS FORMALLY A VEGETABLE PROCESSING PLANT.

IT WAS OWNED BY THE ARTICHOKE & SPROUT GROWERS ASSOCIATION OF SANTA CRUZ. VEGETABLES WERE PROCESSED HERE FROM 1951 UNTIL 1989.

THERE WAS A RAILROAD SPUR ADDED TO THE BACK OF THE BUILDING,
ICED REFRIGERATOR CARS WOULD BE LOADED 24 HRS. A DAY DURING SEASON.

THE VEGETALBES WERE PACKAGED UNDER THE LABELS: " COAST KING, COAST QUEEN, & COAST PRINCE. "
THIS IS THE AREA WHERE TRUCKS LOADED WITH VEGETABLES WOULD WEIGH IN.
NOW IT'S THE SITE OF KELLY'S RETAIL DINNING.
